Pobre Martin Hale. Tot el que vol és que li publiquin en la seva revista preferida, "Cemetery Dance". Tot el que necessita és una mica d'inspiració. La seva dona, n'Alice, pensa el contrari. Li diu que deixi d'escriure, vengui el seu portàtil i pagui les factures. Però en la botiga d'empenyoraments, en Martin veu un coixí en l'aparador que havia estat propietat del famós autor H.P. Lovecraft. En Martin creu que és l'inspiració que estava buscant. El canvia per l'ordinador i el porta a casa per dormir-hi, esperant inspirar-se en els somnis que conté. Però no té cap coneixement dels terrors que aviat deixarà anar.
Poor Martin Hale. All he wants is to be published in his favorite horror magazine, Cemetery Dance. All he needs is some inspiration. His wife, Alice, thinks otherwise. She tells him to quit writing, sell his laptop and pay the bills. But at the pawn shop, Martin sees a pillow in the window that once belonged to famed horror author H.P. Lovecraft. Martin believes this is the inspiration he is looking for. So he trades his laptop for the pillow and takes it home to sleep on it, hoping to be inspired by the dreams it contains. Little does he know what terrors will soon be unleashed.
